Weeks 27 to 31
Wednesday 23 – Sunday 2 March
We've been working and playing hard in Tignes. The weather has been beautiful everyday with blue skies and bright sunshine! Darryl has changed from snowboarding to skiing and Christine has hung up the snowboard to go back to what she knows best..skiing! The mountain in Tignes is a great place to explore and we have been to Bressier and Val D'Isere.
There have been some great nights with the guests on the chalet Singstar. We have had some very talented singers staying with us but also some shockers!!! Christine's singing has improved immensely and I'm sure if you ask her she'll sing for you next time you see her!
We have been frequenting the Alpaka bar which has a huge Irish Wolf Hound named Oscar. He surely is the biggest dog in the world EVER!!! We have been enjoying watching some of the guests throwing themselves off cliffs on tandem paragliders and others racing husky dogs around the lake.
We have had a great time in Tignes but we have had to leave to begin our new adventure. We said goodbye to our friends and began the journey back to the south of France to collect some belongings from Vengara. We got up early and got a lift to the train station down the mountain in Bourg St Maurice. From here 3 trains took us to Arles and a bus took us back to the boat, a full day of travel!!!
The boat was where we left it and the new ventilation and solar panels were working a treat. We had a few days on board to collect our things and pack our bags for our return to the UK. Getting a taxi to the airport was a little too expensive so we borrowed a shopping trolley and walked for half and hour to the nearest bus stop. The bus took us to Arles where we jumped on a train to Nimes to meet the airport shuttle....and to fly home!
